    3. Now tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn it ON.

Note: If you want to extend the battery like of you Motorola Droid Razr HD, turn Wi-Fi OFF when you’re not using it and keep it active whenever you have the possibility to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

    Connecting to Networks

    To search for a network:

    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Tap Wi-Fi.
    4. Turn the Wi-Fi switch to ON and tap Scan.
    5. Tap the desired found network to connect. You might be required to enter a Network SSID, or a Wireless and Security password. Enter the password and tap Connect.
    6. When your phone is connected to a network, the Wi-Fi icon appears in the status bar.
    7. If the Wi-Fi icon at the status bar has a question mark, you need to enter that network’s password. To do that, drag the status bar down and tap the network.

Note: You can see the MAC address as well as the Wi-Fi settings of your smartphone if you go to Apps -> Settings -> Wi-Fi -> tap the Menu key -> select Advanced.

Note 2: When you turn Wi-Fi ON, your smartphone will automatically connect to the available networks it had connected before.

    To Manage Networks

If you want to remove a network -> tap it in the list and then tap Forget.

    To manage your networks:

    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Tap Wi-Fi.
    4. Turn the Wi-Fi ON.
    5. Tap Menu.
    6. Select Manage Networks.

    Wi-Fi Hotspot

You have the possibility of turning your Motorola Droid Razr HD or Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD into a Wireless Mobile Hotspot. Thus, you can provide internet to other Wi-Fi enabled devices, such as tablets or laptops.

    To turn Wi-Fi Hotspot on:

    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Select Tethering & Mobile Hotspot.
    4. Check Mobile Hotspot.

It is highly recommended to set Hotspot Security and Password to protect your smartphone from unauthorized access. To set up security:

    1. Tap Mobile Hotspot Settings.
    2. Configure Mobile Hotspot.
    3. In the SSID field enter a name for your hotspot.
    4. You now need to set up the type of Security that you want to have, either Open or WPA2. It is recommended that you choose WPA2 – this will require you to set up a unique password that others will need in order to access your Wi-Fi hotspot. Thus, it will prevent any unauthorized access.
    5. You can switch to different Channels if you notice interference after the hotspot has been active for a while.
    6. When finished with the settings, tap Save.
    7. Now, when your Hotspot is active, other devices can connect to it if they enter the SSID that you set up, select a Security type and enter the correct Wireless password.

Note: The Wi-Fi power will be turned OFF and your smartphone will start using the mobile network for internet access whenever you turn the Wi-Fi hotspot ON, so pay attention to your monthly data allowance.
