How to Manage V60P Phone Book with PC/Laptop?

Discussion in 'alt.cellular.verizon' started by George \(the other one\), Nov 28, 2003.

  1. (This question was previously posted on alt.cellular.Motorola, but
it did not get any substantive responses so I'm trying again here
    and hoping someone can help.)

I have a Moto V60p and would like to be able manage the phone book
on my phone using my PC or laptop (using Windows XP). I am looking
for software that let's me use a simple interface to edit my V60p
phone book on my computer screen directly and does not require me to
    sync Outlook Contacts.

Can anyone recommend a data cable and software for this purpose?
The only responder on the Motorola news group said that he had had a
bad experience with True Sync on this phone.

Thanks in advance for any advice and information.

    George

    (Please respond to the newsgroup.)

VZW sells a Mobile Office Kit that has the software and cable that you need.

    http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2b/jsp/home.jsp?sectionDataName=NAV

I don't see the v60p kit on there, but the T720 kit is the same thing. Thats
what I use on my v60p.

It retails for about $69.99, but at that page you get it for $45.49. You
might want to buy other things at this 35% off price and free shipping, so
bookmark the page for later use.

Forgot to mention, you can also use this data kit for Express Network (144k)
    or Quick 2 Net (14.4k).

  4. Joe,

Does the Moto Mobile Office Kit allow me to use manage the V60p
phone book directly with a simple PC/laptop (Windows XP) interface
or do I have to sync with an Outlook contacts list?

Thanks for the response and the link.

It lets you edit them directly. The software that comes with the kit is
"quicklink mobile phone book". Lets you add/edit/delete the name, #, Type,
Ringer ID, Comment, and maybe some other things I havent played around with
yet. You can also copy phonebook entries between different phones (as long
as you have cable and drivers). Motorola phones will automatically work.

  6. Thanks, Joe.

Sounds like it's just what I need.
