I just have a quick question about Audiovox's
    phonebook search function.

Is the phonebook search function similar to Motorola's?

When searching phonebook entry in Motorola's phones, you simply
enter the 1st letter of you the phonebook entry you're interested.

So by entering "J" will bring up all entries that STARTS with "J".

Does Audiovox's CDM8600 work like this??

I remember LG's phone (though a older one) will bring up all phone
entires that CONTAINS "J"... which I find very difficult to use.

    Thanks,

It will bring up all entries containing the letter j. Typing the first 2 or
more letters will yield the result you want.

I can't answer your question directly because I've never had an
    Audiovox.

However, LG's VX4400 and I'd guess the VX6000 and all the upcoming
ones (VX4500, VX7000) WILL bring up all entries that CONTAIN the
entered string, but list those that BEGIN with the entered string
    first.
